MINUTES

November 15, 2004

Minutes:  The minutes for Sept. 20, 2004 were approved as written.  The minutes for Oct. 18, 2004 were not presented.

Treasurer’s Report:  The treasurer was absent.  There was $7299.12 in the account.  There were aeveral requests for reimbursement for small purchases.  Sheryl Myers, Dick Fetty and Judy DeLury requested reimbursements totaling $140.  A motion was made, seconded and carried to approve the reimbursements.  The items purchased for reimbursement included, thank-you notes, WRW business cards, postage and a printer ink cartridge.  Dick Fetty requested reimbursement for securing the Emmry Lee Building for the Christmas Party. 

Memorial donations:  Donations continue to come in daily.  Sheryl will send thank-you notes and include a receipt for the donation. 

Christmas Party:  Will be at the Emmry Lee Building on Dec. 20, 2004 from 6 – 8 PM.  The invitations will be sent with RSVP.  Kim will send the invitations.

High School River Clean-up:  Bras Childes reported on the clean-up by the Anderson High School Freshman vision class which cleaned from Edgewater to Frisches.  They recovered over 50 tires and about 10 garbage bags full of debris.  The trash was taken to John Johnson’s and put out for pick-up.

Macroinvertebrate Seminar:  was approved to set up a macroinvertebrate seminar to be given by Angie Tilton, the new Project Wet coordinator. 

2005 Officer Elections:  Kim will continue to produce the news letters.  Judy DeLury will assist Tracey Hall who will continue to be the treasurer in 2005.  Dick Fetty will be the new president.  John Johnson will serve as vice-president.  Judy DeLury will continue to be the secretary/recorder and will be assisted by Sheryl Meyers. 

New Business: 

  • In Jan.  we need to reassess who is and who is no longer a board member
  • We will consider having an educational day with partners such as Ducks Unlimited, Wal-Mart, and the Red Tail Conservancy.  The location is yet to be determined.  A tentative date has been set for Sat. July 9, 2005
  • There will be a news-letter dedicated to Bill Shearer
  • Consider presenting an award in memory  of Bill Shearer
  • Consider a memorial to Bill Shearer
  • Consider the possibility of a grant for a River Tour program.
  • Helen Ween needs support for the KCC.  A motion was made, seconded and carried to donate $100 to the KCC
  • There will be a story in the Herald Bulletin about the 5th anniversary of the fish kill
  • Alan Kilburn indicated the scouts are considering adopting a section of the White River
  • Dick Fetty asked to purchase totes for the gloves.  A motion was made, seconded and carried to spend $50 or less for the totes.
