MINUTES

MINUTES:  A motion was made, seconded and carried to accept the minutes for April 26, 2004

TREASURER’S REPORT:  The current balance was $9,000.47.  The WRW paid $948.44 in claims.  A motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the treasurer’s report. 

JUNE 12 CLEAN-UP:  

*      A motion was made, discussed, seconded and passed to spend $200 or less for transportation.  

*      Volunteers will meet at Edgewater Park. Registration will begin at 8:30AM some will from Mounds Park to Edgewater; some will start at Scatterfield and go to Edgewater Park; some will go on to Frisches.

*      Kim outlined the details.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE REPORT:  There has been no contact for information concerning Jake’s Day.  It is too late to make a presentation at College Corner Elementary School

WATER QUALITY: 

*      It was determined that volunteer board members need to take the new training and turn in the old monitoring kits. 

*      Chad Pigg stated that the water pollution department of Anderson City Water would test samples brought in.  This would be more accurate.  There could be extended locations where the hydro lab can be used.

AWARDS:  Andrew Parker won the Robert Cooper Audubon Society Youth Conservation Award for 2004

FUN DAY:  Fun day will be Aug. 14, 2004.  We will meet at 10AM.  The location will be announced.

MISC.:  Chad Pigg will continue to pressure Jim Haverek to make a proposal to the trustees of the fish kill settlement for bank stabilization at Grandview.  If there are any other ideas for proposals they need to be presented as time is running out to submit the proposals.

The board chose to watch a video about snakes.
