MINUTES
Feb.
20, 2005
We wish to
thank Angie Tilton, the new Project Wet coordinator for the Indiana
DNR. Angie gave us a very thorough look at Benthic Macro
Invertebrates which will help those who are volunteering to assist
with water quality checks.
Minutes: The minutes for Jan. 19, 2005
were approved as written.
Treasurer’s Report: The treasurer’s
report was approved of as written.
Old Business:
- Steve Hughes, our web-site host will
donate the server space. Kim and Judy volunteered to be web
masters.
- Brochure copies need to be up-dated. It
may cost $300/250 or $450/1000.
- Chad Pigg is using the hydro-lab. The
City of Anderson will give us $1000 for our brochures.
- Education/Youth Day: The date is
tentatively set for July 9th. There was discussion
on where to hold the event. It was decided to have an
organizational meeting on Feb. 28th at 6:30 at
Sheryl’s house.
- Earth Day is April 30th. There
will be a celebration at Shadyside Park. Kim will head the
Earth Day event for us, but will be absent on the 30th.
New Business:
- There was discussion about changing the
date of our June clean-up. We did not vote to change the
meeting date.
- Need to get youth groups, Scouts and other
organizations to adopt-a-river
- The board declined to renew our membership
in the Chamber of Commerce
- The board voted to pay dues to the Hoosier
Environmental Council instead and to become active members
