MINUTES APRIL 26, 2004

Welcome Dennis Daffron and John L. Wallace, Ph.D. of the Anderson Moose Lodge. The lodge has adopted a section of the White River and will be coordinating their clean-up with ours on June 12, 2004. We would also like to welcome Kevin Kenyon from Pendleton.

Minutes: The minutes for March 15, 2004 were approved.

Treasurer’s Report: There is $9,769.71 in the treasury. There is an additional $65 deposit not recorded as well. The treasurer’s report was approved. Beckii presented a web site invoice for March 2004 – March 2005 with one year of maintenance and a web site domain. The bill was $800.00. A motion was made, seconded and carried to pay the bill.

Guest Speaker: The guest speaker cancelled at the last minute.

Clean-up:

The Anderson Moose and Family Center has adopted the section of White River from Scatterfield Rd. to Edgewater Park through the Adopt-a-River program. The lodge wants to work with the White River Watchers to coordinate their clean-ups.

The June 12^th clean-up will include two sections of the White River. The sections will be from Mounds State Park to Edgewater and Edgewater to Frische’s.

There will be a special meeting to discuss the details of the clean-up on May 13, 2004 at Kim’s house (800 Alexandria Pike)

Fun Weekend/Day: The date was set for August 14^th with August 21^st as the rain-out date. It will be a family canoe outing.

Education committee:

Ralph asked if anyone was interested in doing a presentation for College Corner. Several said they would be glad to. Ralph will coordinate the presentation.

There has been no date set for Jake’s Day.

Sheryl suggested we have an artist do a drawing/painting of the White River that can be printed as a lithograph that includes the history of the White River.

A motion was made, seconded and passed to adjourn.

Special meeting: A special meeting was held at Kim’s house on May 13^th to prepare for the June 12^th clean-up. The details will be presented at the May 17, 2004 meeting.
