MINUTES
For
Feb. 20, 2006
MINUTES: The minutes for the meeting
of Jan. 30, 2006 were approved as written.
TREASURER’S REPORT: The treasurer’s
report was approved. There was $31,273.81 at the end of
January.
OLD BUSINESS:
A motion was made and accepted to buy the tallest
light color 6’ x 14’ trailer. John Johnson will be in charge of
the purchase.
The ECSWD will continue to take any tires that are
removed from the river.
Sheryl wants to organize a committee for the
summer “River School”
NEW BUSINESS:
Dick Fetty brought in an article of a group trying
to file suit against the Clean Water Act.
Mallard Lake: There is a meeting March 7th
at 11 AM in the Indianapolis Government Center, North. Sheryl
will write letters to the editor and for submission to the
newspaper. Mallard Lake is bordered on the north by Kilbuck
Creek, on the south by SR 67, on the east by 300E and on the
west by 200E. Everyone’s support is needed. A new lawyer has
been hired to continue the long standing fight against an
inappropriately placed land-fill.
There will a drainage workshop at the Elwood
Municipal Building Feb. 27th at 6PM. It is open to
the public.
A motion was made and approved to reimburse the
Kilburns for renting the campground at Mounds Park for our fall
clean-up.
Sheryl will be participating in an educational
project on March 25th at Shadyside Lake. The project
will involve a presentation, project and a clean-up. She
requested assistance for the project.
Helen will research the options for polo shirts
for the board members and will purchase more shirts for future
clean-ups.
