September 20, 2010

Sheryl was absent, Brad presided.

Minutes:  The minutes for the meeting of August 16, were postponed until the October 18, 2010 meeting.

Treasurer's Report:  Kim reported $4859.51 in the checking account.  We use 54 canoed at $35/canoe for a total of $1350.  We were not charged for the bus.  We bought 4 signs at $37.50 each.  New shirts were purchased for $419.50.  The Lapel football team did a clean-up and requested reimbursement.  They rented 24 canoes at $25 each for a total of $600.  Keith's church backed out of their proposed clean-up.   Judy made a motion and Keith seconded to reimburse the Lapel football clean-up with a receipt. The motion passed.

Business:

      Keith will have Aaron help with mini clean-ups so he can get his community hours in.

      We had about 160 volunteers for the September clean-up. 

      The food was great.  The volunteers liked the bags already made up and handed out after they returned .

      Need to have a person check to see if hands are stamped before the volunteers get on the bus.

      Had 3 people registering.  Maybe should have 2 more.

      The Christmas party will be the 2nd Monday in December (December 13, 2010 ) at the Mounds State Park Nature Center. 

      Suggestions for River Bend park included a reservations only canoe launch or for the WRW to be stewards not owners.  Keith will talk to the parks department.  We should check with adopt a river program.

      It was suggested we clean the west side on our next clean-up. 

      It was asked if anyone would be interested in attending a go-Fish Training session.

There was a motion to adjourn.  It was seconded and passed.
