MINUTES
August 17, 2009
Minutes:
Treasurer Judy DeLury was not
present for the July 2,2009 meeting. The minutes were
postponed.
Treasurer's Report:
Kim reported there was
$11,817.76 in the checking account as of August 17, 2009. She
also updated us on the t-shirts.
Mini
Clean-ups:
The Lapel football
team cleaned up a portion of the river in the eastern part of
the county. They pulled out about 90 tires.
Alan and Crist
cleaned up from Alan's house to John's farm and pulled 77 tires
from the river along with a plastic Santa Clause.
Fall Clean-up:
There will be an
organized clean-up in the western portion of Delaware County
from Muncie westward.
Sheryl did a great
job on media coverage for the upcoming clean-up. She will
continue to be our media contact person.
Crist gave an
overview of the water quality issues in Hamilton County.
Crist also gave a
short update on the blue-green algae detected in the reservoirs
as well as updates on contact advisories.
Janice Bowling is
the contact person for the Herald Bulletin.
Registration
begins at 8:30AM.
Someone needs to
contact Timberline.
We should put
fliers at Timberline and Canoe Country.
Canoe Country will
be supplying the canoes for our clean-up and Delaware County's
clean-up.
Wal-Mart will have
their own shirts and hats.
We must contact
Canoe Country to double check on what transportation they will
have available.
We may have more
volunteers this time than in the past. We should have more than
one option...i.e. zone 1, zone 2, etc.
We will use the
trailer to haul the grill, pops, and whatever else Wal-Mart
needs hauled.
We will meet at
Mounds State Park and put in at Canoe Country and at Walbridge.
It was decided
that we only need one dumpster located at Mounds.
We discussed
where/where not to place port-o-lets and hand wash station.
Need someone to be at the Living
Lightly fair from 8 - 4.
There was a notion made,
seconded and approved to adjourn.
