MINUTES

August 16, 2010

There were 6 board members present for a quorum. Brad Childs was absent due to back surgery.

Minutes:  The minutes for the special meeting August 1, 2010 and regular meeting July 19,2010 were approved.. 

Treasurer's Report:  There was a total of $400 received at Riverfest.  We need to purchase a few more T-Shirts for the September Clean-up.  There is $5,909.51 in the checking account. Sheryl agreed to look for grants.  The Violia grant cycle ends in November.

Clean-up:

      It was suggested and agreed to meet at 6PM Friday September 10th to help John set up for the clean-up

      Sheryl will bring the parks department bull horn.

      Need new signs for the clean-up.  Sign Pro's price is $37.50 for two sided signs.  Someone needs to do the graphics.

      The signs need to be put out Saturday morning. 

      Those that register will get their hands stamped.

      Will use the Wal-Mart bags to put the t-shirts in.  Volunteers will indicate what t-shirt sizes they need when they register.  The t-shirts will not be handed out until the volunteers sign back in.

      It was suggested we not advertise to keep the volunteer numbers under control. 

      Will send out an e-mail reminder.

      Sheryl will contact the Herald Bulletin to come to take some pictures.

      There was discussion about renting a demo-saw and who would use it.

      Registration will be between 8 - 8:45AM.

      Wal-Mart will take the tires.

      Joe Tipton will allow us to access his property as a drop-off point.

      Need to set up a pre-registration on the web-site.

Education/Outreach

      Judy will check on Project Wet.

      Kim mentioned Tech Soup and possibly buying a projector.

      We received an e-mail from Tonya Boyton about presenting Project Wet in her classroom.

      Sheryl said she would contact Tonya.

      Signed the MOU with the MCSWQP.
