MINUTES
April 19,2010
Minutes:
The minutes for March 15, 2010 were approved
Treasurer's
Report: The treasurer's report was approved. We discussed
having an audit. Kim will file the 990 in May.
Old Business:
We will have pencils, fliers and brochures for the
Earth Day Celebration in Anderson.
There was discussion about the new sewage treatment
plant proposed by the Town of Edgewood. Alan wanted the group to
write a letter voicing an opinion against the proposed treatment
plant. The general consensus was that the WRW should only comment
on issues as they related to water quality and not voice an opinion
on the political aspects of issues. The discussion also centered on
the lack of information. The WRW could have a presence at the next
BZA meeting and ask about gaining more information . The next
county BZA meeting is scheduled for April 27th, 2010 at 9AM.
There was discussion about asking Tom Brewer to speak
at our next meeting. He is from the Anderson Water Department. We
might ask him to speak on the state of the crumbling infrastructure
and other issues. We could also ask about the bio-solids program.
Kim suggested creating a Facebook page to use for
notices of events. This would increase the WRW's ability to link
electronically.
Holly Chaille is invited to speak at the June 21, 2010
meeting.
Crist talked about the MS4 statewide annual program
hosted by the City of Anderson on April 22, 2010. It will be held
at the Paramount Theater and will be an all day affair. The cost is
$35/person and includes meals and refreshments.
Sheryl made a motion to reimburse anyone who would
like to attend the MS4 state wide annual meeting. The motion was
seconded and passed.
Sheryl wanted to plan a clean-up of Shadyside Park.
New Business:
There was no new business discussed.
A motion was made,
seconded and approved to adjourn.
