October 16, 2006
Minutes: The minutes for the meeting
held on September 18, 2006 were approved
Treasurer’s Report: there was
$26,479.28 in the account. There is one outstanding bill for
Republic. The treasurer’s report was approved.
Old business:
John Johnson showed us a video of the Yorktown
clean-up.
We need insurance for the van/trailer. Jim Rich
indicated a $500.00 deductible with comprehensive, collision and
$500,000.00 liability would be $276.00. A motion was made, seconded
and passes to pay the premium.
Crist reported on a mini-clean-up from Raible to
Crist’s property. They used a flat-bottom boat collecting 60 tires
in one day. He suggested the WRW should consider purchasing a
flat-bottom boat for clean-ups. We could also use some 6’ long and
8’ long tire pullers along with some 18” picks for digging.
Christmas Party: The Mounds State Park Pavilion was
taken. A motion was made, seconded and passes to rent the Emory Lee
Building in Alexandria. The details were discussed.
New business:
There was a discussion about guest speakers…who to
invite, when. etc.
The election of officers is next month, bring
nominations for offices. Kim volunteered to remain treasurer.
We need to put links to LL Bean and the American Canoe
Association (ACA) on the website and than Scampi’s for donating
chili to feed the volunteers. We will send a letter of thanks and
a report on our clean-up efforts to the ACA.
A motion was made, seconded and passed to spend $100
(maximum) on public relations and advertisement(s).
We need to send a thank-you card to Ted Bennett for
his many generous donations.
