MINUTES

March 19, 2007

Minutes:  The minutes for the meeting of Feb. 14, 207 were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:  The treasurer’s report was approved.

Old business:

*            July 21, 2007 has been set as the day we will celebrate ten years of clean-ups, stewardship and community outreach.  The City of Anderson will co-sponsor the event.  The event will be held in conjunction with the cruise-in to be held downtown.  The star attraction will be the White River.  We need to think about a catch phrase.  Many suggestions were made including Go-Fish and Geo-cashing.  The time suggested was from 10AM – 4PM.

*            Trevor will handle the marketing as a part of a class project at Anderson University.

*            It was suggested that we should offer canoe rides for a fee.  John will call Canoe Country to see if they are interested in running this portion of the festival.

*            Crist will invite the band Common Ground to play at our celebration.

*            Sheryl will price tents.

*            Our next meeting will be on April 23, 2007 instead of April 16, 2007 due to maintenance being done on the meeting room. 

New business:

*            The City of Anderson will celebrate Arbor Day on April 28, 2007 beginning at 10AM. 

*            We should have a flier to hand out announcing out plans for the celebration.

*            A motion was made, seconded and passed to spend $100 on trinkets with a logo on them for advertising.

*            A motion was made, seconded and passes to pay the $20 for booth space at Arbor Day.

*            The River Rally at Purdue was discussed.  It was mentioned that it was expensive at $185/person for two days.  Sheryl suggested we could reimburse those of our members who might want to attend.
