MINUTES JUNE 21, 2005

MINUTES:   The minutes for the meeting of May 16, 2005 were approved as written.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  The treasurer was absent and no report was available. 

OLD BUSINESS:

·        Education Day:  Education day will be held at Edgewood School.  There will be games, education and bird houses to make, then the groups will canoe from Madison Ave. to the Conservation club at Raible Ave.  The participants will be split into two groups of 20.  One will canoe first and one will participate in the educational activities first.  The YMCA will provide lunch.  A motion was made, seconded and passed to budget $700 for this event.  There will be a recognizance canoe trip on June 30, 2005 beginning at 5PM and starting at Derby Downs.  Hammers will be needed!

·        THE JUNE 11^TH CLEAN-UP WAS A SUCCESS!!!  Thanks to all who participated and/or provided products and services. 

NEW BUSINESS: 

·        Absentee treasurer:  Kim read the by-laws.  A motion was made to remove Tracie Hall from the position of treasurer.  She will be allowed to remain a board member at this time.  The motion was seconded.  After discussion a vote was taken and the motion was accepted without amendment.

·        Vacant treasurer’s position:  A motion was made, seconded and passed to install Kim Rodgers-Hatfield as the treasurer for the rest of this term. 

·        A motion was made, seconded and passed that we are not obligated to compensate Brad McCord for his grant writing services.  (We would like to thank him for his unsolicited effort and the resulting grant)

·        There was discussion as to how to spend the money received from the Trustees of the fish kill settlement.  It was determined that further review is necessary.  No decisions were made at this time.
