April 23, 2007

Minutes:  The reading of the minutes was postponed until the May 21, 2007 meeting

Treasurer’s Report:  There was $21,956.87 in the account.  The treasurer’s report was accepted.

Old business: 

      The Muncie Sanitary district and Yorktown will be having a clean-up on June 2 , 2007

      The main topic was out 10 year celebration.  Our catch phrase/slogan will be WHITE RIVER WATCHERS:  TEN YEARS CLEANER

      The celebration will begin at 8AM with balloon rides, if possible and run until ~1PM

      We are still waiting to hear from Helen Ween about the Re-Max Balloon.

      Judy will design a poster. 

      The band Common Ground will play from 9AM – 11AM  or 10AM – 12noon

      We need to find out about the availability of electricity.

      A 20’ x 60’ tent will cost ~$349.  The Anderson Parks Department can provide the tables.

      The City of Anderson will celebrate Arbor Day on April 28, 2007.

      We have booth #11

      The celebration begins at 10AM, but we need to be there at 9AM to set up.

New business: 

      It was decided that we should nominate John and Zoe Johnson for the River Hero Award. 

      The fall clean-up will be on the west side of the county on Sat. Sept. 8^th.

      May 19^th we will clean up our adopted section of the river in conjunction with the city wide clean-up.  The city will then take care of the trash picked-up.

      A motion was made, seconded and passed to reimburse Judy the extra $56.20 for the Frisbees for Arbor Day.

      Alan will look into shelving for the trailer.
