April 17, 2006

Minutes:  Minutes for the meeting of March 20, 2006 were approved as corrected. 

Treasurer’s Report:  There was $31,273.49 in the account.  There was little activity, dues were received and the scout troop was reimbursed for the Mounds Park Rental

Old Business: 

      Mallard Lake:  Crist asked everyone to write a letter to political leaders, the newspaper, etc.  There should be KCC awareness at Earth Day.  There was much discussion about Mallard Lake. 

      Shadyside Park:  The clean-up will be on Sat. April 22, 2006.  Bring a garden rake.  Trees will be planted.  The clean-up will be between 2 and 4Pm.  Meet next to the ball diamonds for the grounds clean-up.  On April 29^th AU has a volunteer group scheduled to clean-up Shadyside Park.

      Earth Day:  We have 100 coloring books provided by Rustle the Leaf.  Volunteer will be needed to man the booth. 

      Clean-up:  The June clean-up will be from Timberline to Mounds Park.  We will meet at Mounds Park at 8:30AM.  We will use Shelton’s canoes.  We need to solicit sponsors.

      Education:  Camp USA is a possible name for our education day with the YMCA.  It will be July 6^th or 7^th.  

 New Business:  A motion was made, seconded and approved to buy 500 more pencils with our logo on them.  There was discussion about the old railroad trestle and what to do to clean up that portion of the river, or at least make it safer.
