MINUTES
November 20, 2006
Guest Speaker: Our guest speaker was
Nara Manor. Nara gave an overview of the water treatment facility
in Anderson, Indiana and how raw sewage was processed.
Minutes: The minutes for the meeting of
October 16, 2006 were approved.
Treasurer’s Report: There was
$26,364.19 in the treasury. The minutes were approved.
Old Business:
There was discussion about purchasing a flat bottom
boat to be used in our clean-ups.
The River Rally to be held at Purdue at Wets,
Lafayette will be held June 6, 7, 8 and 9, 2007. It was decided
that more information was needed.
The Christmas party will be held on Monday December
18, 2006 at the Emory Lee Building. Details of the party were
discussed.
Next year out meetings will be held in the Delaware
Room at the Anderson Library on the third Monday of the month, with
the exception of January when our meeting will be held on Monday,
January 22, 2007. The library will be closed on the regular meeting
day due to Martin Luther King Day.
Moss Island will be come a nature preserve with trails
for public use.
New business:
The election of officers was held. All officers ran
unopposed. The officers are: Crist Blassaras, President; Kevin
Kenyon, Vice-President; Judy DeLury, Secretary; Kim
Rodgers-Hatfield, Treasurer. The officers were elected by unanimous
agreement.
Crist’s priorities center on determining clean-up
dates and bringing in new membership. Crist explained a grant that
might pay for DNA probes to determine what species e-coli found in
streams is from.
A motion was made, seconded and approved to
adjourn.
